I got used to FastStone image viewer on Windows for viewing my pictures for it's simplicity (although it has a lot of features) and speed.Show Exif data on edge when you go there with your pointer. Open jpeg or raw (RAF for me) file in full screen view when you double click on it. This data recovery tool has versions available for both Windows and Mac users.What I want from the image viewer is these simple things:![]() And yes it supports RAW formats that apple supports. About the only thing you can't do is zoom. As you can see there is the image, a scroll bar at the bottom to scroll through thumb nails, and meta data in the right panel. I don't mind paying but I already paid for FastRawViewer so not too keen on paying for another app that does very similar things.My question is, do you know of any other light weight, simple image viewer that would meet my criteria? If I want to see any meta data I bump the right corner of the screen and get exif details to auto popup and hide again when I move the pointer away. As I mentioned I like to just double click on the image and it opens in a full screen view (fit to screen size) with no panels just and image. But it doesn't do anything I want. But if I quit the app and open another image it defaults to the window view not a full screen.Might be a nice app but to trial it I have to pay £0.99 Yes not that much but if I install it and don't like straight away why waste the money. If I open an image, toggle full screen, toggle hide all panels, and quit the app cmd+q the when I double click the same image it will open as I left it in full screen all panels hidden. Another app just tried put the watermark on the viewer. Just tried LilyView they give you 7 days trial. As I mentioned I bought FastRawViewer for £19.99.Nothing is free! But I refuse to pay for a trial! FastRawViewer let you trial it for 30 days for free full functioning version. I have no complaint, and I can only highly recommend it.I am skeptical when the best attribute of some software is that it is free.I'm all for paying for good software.
